LOPSA Partners With Ohio LinuxFest for OLFU 2008

LOPSA is partnering with Ohio LinuxFest 2008 to provide professional system administration training classes for the "OLFU" training day at Ohio LinuxFest 2008.
Training will be offered in half-day classes on Friday, October 10. Topics will include system administration professional and career issues, security, and linux and open source system administration training. Class details and registration instructions will be available on the lopsa.org and OLF web sites in the near future.
In 2007, LOPSA offered four half-day training classes at the first OLFU. For 2008, class offerings will grow to at least six classes. Instructors Jesse Trucks and Chris St. Pierre were given high marks by their students. Jesse is a member of the LOPSA Board and Chris is active in several LOPSA projects.
Partnering with other groups and events to offer LOPSA professional system administration training to a wider audience of system administrators is an major LOPSA activity. In the past year, LOPSA has provided training at both OLFU and the SoCal Linux Expo (Scale6x), and at recently completed a very sucessful System Administration Master Class at the YAPC::NA conference. Plans are underway to expand the LOPSA trainig at Scale7x in February 2009, at YAPC::NA 2009, and to add additional events to our training calendar.
LOPSA training at OLFU and other events is coordinated by the LOPSA Education Committee. If you want to get involved with the Education Committee programs, please send email to education@lopsa.org
