Diversity in Open Source Workshop
Cost: $20
Sunday September 12, 2010
11 am - 6 pm
Have you ever felt that who you are has had an effect on your ability to join or contribute to an Open Source community? Have you noticed that people are treated differently based something other than their contributions? They say "On the internet, nobody knows you're a dog." What happens when they find out?
Join us for a day of encouraging diversity in the Open Source world. A mix of talks and open discussion will help attendees identify biases and learn ways to break down barriers, invisible or blatant. To suggest a topic, propose a talk or for more information, email dios@ohiolinux.org. Registration is available when you register for the Ohio LinuxFest. Registration is not required but is strongly encouraged. In the event the room fills people who have registered will be given preference.
